Can you share something that shaped your future or changed your career path by your attendance at an ACCP Annual Meeting?
- "At the ACCP meeting in San Francisco in September of 2007, I was recruited as a clinical pharmacologist for the Critical Path Institute, based in part on the work I was presenting during the poster session. Since then, I've been promoted to Director of Clinical Research (of which clinical pharmacology is an essential component). This goes to show that the networking opportunities at ACCP are priceless". - Klaus Romero, MD, Director of Clinical Research, The Critical Path Institute
- "Becoming a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology is my most important and wisest professional investment in my career. The privileges of membership far exceed the expectations of Members and Fellows of the College, which differentiate this association from contemporary associations. The association, through its Annual Meeting, provides an excellent opportunity to learn, share and network with world renowned experts in the field". - Brahma Singh, PhD, Forest Laboratories, Inc
- "I attended my first ACCP meeting at the end of my first year in graduate school. The ability to meet scientists which work across all settings and are so actively engaged in the organization, really motivated me to get involved with ACCP to a greater extent. Also, I began to appreciate how important it is to present your work at national meetings. From the perspective of a student or post-doctoral fellow, ACCP offers the opportunity to get involved and really feel like you are making a difference in the organization. They have a wonderful staff which is dedicated to reaching out to students and helping them as they begin their career in clinical pharmacology. Moreover, few organizations offer Student Abstract Awards. These awards provide additional funds for students to attend the national meeting and present their work. Student award winners are recognized during a dinner & awards reception immediately before the start of the Annual Meeting". - Daniel Gonzalez, PharmD, University of Florida
- "ACCP meetings have streamlined my research focus in pharmacology and have helped to get a better understanding in the various branches of pharmacology. ACCP provides a very good educational platform with its CME and regular updates." - Ravin Lal, MSc, Griffith University, Australia
- "ACCP has played a key role in pursuit of my scientific goals & shaping my career in the field of clinical pharmacology, since I joined ACCP almost 6 years back when I was pursuing my PhD. Today I am a clinical pharmacologist engaged in developing innovative medicines to fight serious diseases. I have been absolutely mesmerized with the highest degree of focus & dedication ACCP has to not only advance the field of clinical pharmacology but also to train & develop the next generation clinical pharmacologist. ACCP has the right critical mass among all other scientific organizations in this field that allows it to be an agile & nimble, high performing clinical pharmacology international scientific organization. ACCP membership & leadership is represented by a right balance of folks leading clinical pharmacology in all spheres including industry, academia, & regulatory. ACCP is & will remain my primary clinical pharmacology scientific organization. - Dr. Vijay V. Upreti, Clinical Pharmacologist, Bristol-Myers Squibb
