ACCP Activities
Annual Meeting and Frontiers Symposia
The Annual Meeting of the College is held in the fall of each year and includes a wide variety of educational workshops and symposia on cutting-edge, relevant topics related to clinical pharmacology and the optimal use of therapeutics. These interactions provide a forum for new scientific ideas and bring together healthcare professionals of various disciplines to meet and discuss areas of common interest. Continuing medical education (CME) credits and continuing education units (CEU) for qualified professionals are offered, and we pursue accreditation with additional healthcare professional organizations, as required, for each educational program.
Since 1981, ACCP has presented its Frontiers of Clinical Pharmacology Symposia, providing a forum for the presentation of new concepts or ideas in an emerging aspect of clinical pharmacology. Topics of recent Frontier Symposia have included Lipid Lowering Drugs, Immunopharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology in Space, Assessing the Pharmacodynamics of CNS Acting Medications, The Pharmacology and Therapeutics of Gene Regulation, Advances in the Pharmacotherapy of Organ Transplantation and the 6th International Symposium on Microdialysis in Drug Research and Development. As with the Annual Meeting, CME and CEU credits are offered.
International Scientific Forums
ACCP actively supports the establishment of local and international chapters. These chapters provide Members with the opportunity to interact with colleagues and exchange ideas on a regular basis. Each chapter has its own governing body and is responsible for local programs. The College assists each chapter by providing a list of speakers and other materials as requested by the local governing body. Contact us today about establishing a chapter.
Publications
ACCP owns The Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, the premier journal in clinical pharmacology. Published monthly, the journal contains exceptional peer-reviewed original research, educational series, editorials and the complete program for all College sponsored events and abstracts for the Annual Meeting.
In 2011, ACCP will launch another publication, Clinical Pharmacology in Drug Development, a quarterly eJournal that will focus on preclinical and early clinical studies of new therapeutic agents.
Online Membership Directory
ACCP maintains an up-to-date, online Membership Directory within its website that can be accessed by all ACCP Members.
